Warm saffron milk with honey combines a delicate golden infusion with cardamom and cinnamon. It is a simple, gently sweet drink to enjoy at the end of a meal or during a quiet evening.
Makes 2 glasses · Infuse the saffron for 10 minutes · Warm the milk gently · Finish with honey off the heat.

Ingredients for 2 glasses
- 500 ml whole milk or a plant-based alternative
- 1 small pinch of saffron threads
- 2 tablespoons warm water, for the infusion
- 1 teaspoon honey, or more to taste
- ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
- Optional: 1 teaspoon food-grade rose water
How to make saffron milk with honey
- Infuse. Steep the saffron threads in warm water for 10 minutes.
- Warm the milk. Heat it gently in a saucepan over medium-low heat without letting it boil vigorously.
- Add the spices. Stir in the cardamom and cinnamon.
- Add the saffron. Pour in the infusion with its threads and keep warm for another 3–4 minutes.
- Finish. Take off the heat and stir in the honey and optional rose water. Divide between two glasses and serve at a comfortable drinking temperature.
Tips and variations
Use an unsweetened plant drink if you want more control over sweetness. Different alternatives change the flavour and texture, so choose one that suits your taste.
Rose water can be strong; add it cautiously. Keep the honey modest at first and taste before adding more. Enjoy the drink for its warmth and aroma rather than expecting it to treat a sleep problem.
