Saffron for restaurants and professional kitchens

Saffrona’s saffron for restaurants is designed for cafés, patisseries, catering businesses and professional kitchens that use saffron regularly. This 20 g professional pack combines whole Afghan saffron threads, high colouring strength and laboratory-tested quality for everyday culinary use.

The pack is suited to kitchens with a moderate or regular saffron requirement. It offers a practical size between small catering packs and larger bulk quantities, so you can replenish your supply without buying more than you need.

Afghan saffron from Herat with batch-specific laboratory results

Our saffron threads come from Herat, Afghanistan, a region known for saffron cultivation. The saffron is carefully processed and packed to protect it from light and help preserve its aroma, colour and quality.

Eurofins assessed batch L2025-01 as Special Grade under ISO 3632-1:2025, based on the tests performed. Report AR-733-2025-00206306-02, dated 24 August 2026, records crocin 279 ± 7, picrocrocin 104 ± 3, safranal 30 ± 3 and moisture 7.5 ± 1.2%. These results apply to the tested batch. The crocin measurement relates to colouring strength; it is not a percentage of purity or a guarantee of a particular result in every recipe.

Whole saffron threads are easy to inspect and let chefs adjust the amount to the recipe, portion size and desired intensity.

For restaurants, cafés, patisseries and catering

This professional pack can be used in a wide range of dishes and drinks:

  • Rice dishes and Middle Eastern cooking
  • Desserts and fine pastries
  • Bread, cakes and patisserie products
  • Hot and cold drinks
  • Sauces and contemporary restaurant dishes

Small quantities can contribute both colour and flavour. The amount needed depends on the dish and preparation method, so adjust it to your recipe rather than relying on a fixed yield claim.

A practical pack for regular use

Professional kitchens need ingredients that are both high quality and straightforward to work with. The 20 g pack is designed for regular use, with whole threads that can be portioned to suit different recipes.

The saffron’s high colouring strength makes it suitable for preparations where a distinctive golden colour matters. Whole threads offer flexibility when developing recipes and adjusting the balance of aroma, flavour and colour.
